For more than 25 years, the Pawnee County Promotional Network (PCPN) has promoted Pawnee County and the six communities within its boundaries. The Pawnee County Promotional Network in a Nebraska Nonprofit Corporation and county-wide federally tax exempt 501(c)(3) foundation, improving Pawnee County by promoting tourism, economic development, historic preservation, cultural events, and educational projects.

Activities and support have included:

  • Printing promotional placemats for restaurants in the area
  • Beautification projects, including flower boxes and beds in all six communities
  • Cultural events such as a Christmas Cantata, Chautauqua, and musical/theater performances
  • Restoration of buildings, including Harold Lloyd birthplace and the ZCBJ Czech Social Hall
  • Tourism development through representation int he Southeast Nebraska Tourism Council (SENTC), MINK, and other organizations
  • Brochure creation, advertising in regional and national magazines, and participation in statewide brochure swaps
  • Representation in economic development groups such as the Southeast Nebraska Economic Development Association (SENEDA), Southeast Nebraska Lake Association (SENLA), and Pawnee City Development Corporation (PCDC)
  • Provide grants to other groups for tourism and community development projects
  • Historic preservation projects
  • Participation in the Nebraska Community Improvement Program, receiving several first-place awards
  • Distribute a variety of Pawnee County promotional items
  • Help support nonprofit organizations
  • Initiated Harold Lloyd Foundation of Burchard, Pawnee County Arts Council, World Farmers Hall of Fame Foundation, Historic Preservation Committee, and Pawnee City Target
  • Co-Sponsorship of Pawnee County Membership in RC&D
